RN Position Job Notes:
Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details
Work 3x12 hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
Weekend requirement: May be every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
Patient ratio of 1:5
Care for adult and geriatric patients on Hospitalist service with pulmonary and other medicine-related conditions, including renal overflow
Unit can accommodate up to two ventilated patients (chronic vent experience required)
Floating required within skillset to other PCU or medical-surgical level of care units
Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
EPIC charting experience required
Must have experience with cardiac monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
Administer cardiac drips (Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, low dose dopamine and dobutamine, Amiodarone, Nitro, Bumex, Lasix - no titration)
Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
Provide ventilator care for chronic vented patients (not ICU level of care)
Respiratory support using nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
Participate in Rapid Response and Code teams
Follow isolation precautions
First-time travelers accepted
Minimum 1 year of experience required
Active Virginia State or Compact RN license required
Must work at least 1 holiday per 13-week assignment (2 holidays during winter season)
