Position Summary
This position is responsible for providing the day‑to‑day maintenance and repairs of all aspects of a large corporate facilities division. Provides support to the facilities team by responding to routine work requests, equipment breakdowns and emergency calls, in a prompt and professional manner. He/she will also perform or assist in completing preventive and predictive maintenance work orders and service requests. Identifies necessary consumables and requisitions of required parts that are used and/or needed. Independently or with little assistance complete building and grounds maintenance tasks as assigned by the Facilities Supervisor or the Operations Manager. You will complete building inspections and preventive maintenance requirements; correct deficiencies; adjust or repair and keep accurate records.

Performs skilled and semi‑skilled maintenance activities depending upon area of assignment including basic trade activities such as painting, general maintenance, and carpentry work. Lifting, moving, and transporting personal property or business supplies.

Maintains facilities, shop and mechanical spaces, storage sites and other buildings in a clean, orderly, and serviceable condition. Performs repairs on building elements, interior, exterior, in the central plant areas or in general office spaces, conference rooms and data center as directed. Completes assigned work orders while providing internal customer concerns or complaints.

Maintains logs and records of work performed and materials and equipment used for quarterly and annual testing of safety systems.

Utilizes a variety of hand and power tools, ladders, safety equipment and PPE to complete tasks or projects in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with OSHA standards and company policies.

Communicates regularly and effectively by email, phone or in‑person with supervisor, contractors, CVS employees and department managers to inform them of work to be performed within their departments.

Performs scheduled preventive or predictive maintenance on building mechanical equipment; inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, etc. as directed by the supervisor. Cleans roof scuppers and cooling towers as required. Repairs or replaces broken windows, repairs doors, door locks and closers.

Performs various duties or projects as assigned or directed by the maintenance supervisor or engineering department manager.

Maintains records of scheduled maintenance, day‑to‑day work orders, procedures and preventative maintenance on a computer‑based work order system or controls to adjust mechanical equipment systems as required.

Responds to callouts and weather‑related emergencies such as ice/snow, roof leaks, overflows, critical alarms, equipment failures or other hazardous conditions.

Working Conditions

Fast paced and changing environment, at times requiring quick responses and decisions.

Frequently inspects remote, noisy, sometimes dirty mechanical areas, boilers, and pump rooms.

Physically able to shovel snow and work outdoors during inclement weather events as needed.

Loads and unloads equipment, tools, and packages in loading areas across multiple locations and buildings.

Occasional extended workdays, weekends, evenings as needed.

Requires oral and written communications skills necessary to understand and complete work orders and to elevate issues to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Maintains a valid driver's license and ability to safely operate corporate vehicles to/from corporate facilities to investigate complaints, repair building systems or components.

Provides positive customer service to general office and conference room areas, kitchen and serving areas during service calls as needed during emergency repairs or replacements.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk long distances. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 40 pounds. The employee is also required to use ladders or other lifting devices.

Required Qualifications

3 years of hands‑on experience in building trades, facilities maintenance, repair of commercial building, and property management related services and systems.

Reads and understands written or electronic work orders and assignments, walks or drives to service response area to perform physical work in offices, data centers, mechanical spaces, remote locations such as mechanical boiler rooms to perform assigned duties or provide service to stakeholders.

Physically responds to various interior or exterior facilities locations which present various environmental working conditions in order to perform essential duties.

Must be available to work various shifts depending on supervisor's discretion and schedule requirements, ability to work overtime as required to repair or assist others to return facility to full operating condition.

Enhances maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Ability and willingness to effectively communicate with others.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in commercial buildings, data centers, hospitals, or power plants.

Experience making property repairs utilizing basic hand and power tools.

Education

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$18.50 - $38.82
— a base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
