Job Overview
This position is responsible for the day‑to‑day maintenance and repairs of all aspects of a large corporate facilities division. The technician responds to routine work requests, equipment breakdowns, and emergency calls, assists with preventive and predictive maintenance work orders, and requisitions required parts. They complete building inspections, repair work orders, maintain accurate records, and support the facilities team and Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

Perform skilled and semi‑skilled maintenance activities including painting, general maintenance, carpentry, and other basic trade activities.

Maintain facilities, shop, mechanical spaces, storage sites, and buildings in a clean, orderly condition and repair building elements inside and outside the central plant areas, office spaces, conference rooms, and data centers.

Maintain logs and records of work performed, materials, and equipment used for quarterly and annual safety tests.

Utilize hand and power tools, ladders, safety equipment, and PPE to complete tasks safely in compliance with OSHA standards and company policies.

Communicate regularly by email, phone, or in‑person with supervisors, contractors, CVS employees, and department managers regarding work to be performed.

Perform scheduled preventive or predictive maintenance on mechanical equipment (e.g., inspect belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, clean roof scuppers and cooling towers, replace windows, doors, locks, and closers).

Carry out various duties or projects assigned by the maintenance supervisor or engineering department manager.

Maintain records of scheduled maintenance and work orders on a computer‑based work order system.

Respond to callouts and weather‑related emergencies such as ice/snow, roof leaks, overflows, critical alarms, equipment failures, or other hazardous conditions.

Working Conditions

Fast‑paced and changing environment that may require quick responses and decisions.

Frequent inspection of remote, noisy, sometimes dirty mechanical areas such as boilers and pump rooms.

Physically required to shovel snow, work outdoors in inclement weather, and load/unload equipment and packages at multiple locations.

Occasional extended workdays, weekends, and evenings as needed.

Oral and written communication skills necessary to understand and complete work orders and to escalate issues.

Valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate corporate vehicles between facilities.

Positive customer service when interacting with general office and conference room areas, kitchens, and serving areas during service calls.

Standards for lifting up to 40 pounds, using ladders, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and moving up to 10 pounds regularly.

Required Qualifications

At least 3 years of hands‑on experience in building trades, facilities maintenance, repair of commercial buildings, and property management related services.

Ability to read and understand written or electronic work orders and assignments, and to navigate to various service locations.

Capacity to respond physically to interior or exterior facilities under varying environmental conditions.

Availability to work various shifts, overtime, and shift changes as scheduled by the supervisor.

Willingness to take ownership of tasks, accept new requests, and add value to job duties.

Effective communication skills with others.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in commercial buildings, data centers, hospitals, or power plants.

Experience making property repairs utilizing basic hand and power tools.

Education
High School Diploma or GED

Compensation & Benefits
Anticipated weekly hours: 40
Time type: Full time

Pay range: $18.50 – $38.82 per hour (base hourly rate). Eligible for bonus, commission, or short‑term incentive programs.
