Position Overview
We are seeking a Production Welder I to support welding, alignment, and assembly activities in a high‑energy production environment for carbon steel and stainless‑steel railcar bodies. The role involves working on a world‑class train manufacturing facility in Lexington, North Carolina.
Hours
2nd Shift: 4:00 pm – 2:30 am, Monday–Thursday.
Responsibilities
Utilize production blueprints, parts lists, sketches, and verbal instructions to execute electronic or manual welding tasks, including standard and repetitive assembly operations.
Construct and assemble routine welded units such as subassemblies and mounted parts with precision.
Conduct visual inspections and adhere to established quality checks to ensure the highest standards are met.
Qualifications
High school education or state‑recognized GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Practical welding test will be required for all candidates to assess skills.
Working knowledge of torch and plasma equipment is preferred.
General mechanical background preferred.
Fully understand manufacturing drawings and able to verify dimensions.
Capable of basic written and verbal communication in English.
Physical Demands
Comfortable working in a non‑climate‑controlled environment when required.
Required to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and use hands to handle objects or tools.
Frequent verbal communication is necessary; occasional tasks may involve detecting odors.
Ability to lift and/or move items up to 40 pounds.

Compensation
The hourly rate for this position in Lexington, NC is $20.00–$22.51, plus a 10% shift differential for second shift. The rate may vary based on budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
