Responsibilities
Performs clerical and communication functions on the assigned nursing unit.
Monitors patients for arrhythmias and alerts proper personnel as needed.
Provides courteous reception on the nursing unit and coordinates activities for patient care.
Qualifications and Certifications
Minimum Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
Completion of an EKG or Rhythm Interpretation course.
Minimum of one (1) year of current experience as a Unit Secretary and Monitor Technician in an acute care setting.
Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Data entry and computer skills.
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) card from the American Heart Association.
ED/Geropsych: AB 508 Certification (obtain within 30 days of hire if not available).
Successful candidate must pass a rhythm recognition exam.
Compensation
The hourly rate for this position is $28.01.
