Job Overview
Performs a wide spectrum of both diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures that require the safe and effective utilization of radioactive materials in patients of all ages.
Qualifications
Graduate of an AMA accredited Nuclear Medicine program
Certifications and Licenses Required
Must hold or be eligible for a NJ state licensed Nuclear Medicine Technology license
Registered or registry eligible by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists Nuclear Medicine ARRT–N or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board NMTCB
Maintains BLS Health Care Provider course completion status

Essential Functions
Assists the nuclear physician in the use of radionuclides for therapeutic purposes using prescribed safety standards and in accordance with the QMP Quality Management Program submitted to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
Demonstrates knowledge of the Medical Center and Department's policies.
Makes decisions based on good judgment and the patient's condition to best service the patient and the Medical Center.
Demonstrates knowledge of the hospital SMS system; is able to enter/delete orders, complete orders and charges, check patient status and information.
Maintains adequate and accurate records of radionuclide receipt, administration, usage, storage, and disposal in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Maintains the Department in a contamination free and orderly state.
Maintains the Department in a state of regulatory compliance at all times.
Participates in the Department's Performance Improvement (PI) efforts by improving one's own performance, seeking opportunities for Department improvement, and participating in PI activities.
Performs diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures on patients inclusive of organ imaging and function studies.
Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals to patients demonstrating knowledge of and adherence to state and federal regulations and 797 standards.
Documents radiopharmaceutical administration data in the NMIS computer system including adverse reaction and pregnancy/breast feeding status.
Prepares studies for interpretation ensuring all proper dosage information, patient history, diagnostic information, image labeling, formatting, associated paperwork, and transfer to the PAC system is complete.
Provides protection to oneself and others in accordance with the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) philosophy and in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Sets up equipment and positions patients for bone mineral density studies in accordance with Departmental procedures.
Supports the Patient1st philosophy and is active in measures taken by the Department to increase patient safety and satisfaction.
Maintains a professional attitude towards physicians, patients, visitors, and co-workers.
Upon completion of a procedure properly cleans and organizes the room and performs any necessary equipment cleaning in accordance with Departmental policies.
Verifies patients identification in accordance with hospital policies, checks physicians orders, and verifies appropriateness of study prior to the administration of any radionuclide.
$12,000 one-time Sign-On Bonus (externals only).
