Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm, with occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays. This is a live‑on campus position. On‑call shifts may be scheduled as needed throughout the year, including during campus closures, on a rotational basis among the live‑on Area Coordinator staff.

Department:
Residence Life Team within University Housing Services (UHS). The Residence Life Team (RLT) is responsible for the development and delivery of services and programs that foster a residential experience ensuring the quality of life, well‑being and personal development of students, thereby supporting retention and academic success.
Duties and Responsibilities
Support Front Desk Attendants (FDA), Resident Advisors (RA), and Program Assistants (PAs) with daily operations and emergency interventions of residential communities.
Assist Coordinators with student success support services and programs that improve retention and graduation rates for all CPP residential students.
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with residents.
Encourage student success within the portfolio through programming, role modeling, and support administrative operations such as room assignments, occupancy reports, resident check‑in/check‑out, room changes, work requests, and equipment check‑out.
Respond to emergencies, including climbing stairs in residence halls without elevators.
Apply and enforce University policy, UHS policy, and UHS Housing License Agreement for residential students.
Residential Education Initiatives
Assist RAs and PAs with program development, planning, and implementation.
Participate in the annual selection processes for RAs and PAs.
Assist with educational campaigns, programming, trainings, and workshops for the residential community.
Collaborate with campus departments to design and implement programs that promote interaction, dialogue, leadership, sense of belonging, and inclusive practices for all residential students.
Understand expectations of professional staff, student leaders, and affiliated groups such as RSA and NRHH.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a behavioral science, public or business administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience that demonstrates the required knowledge and abilities.
Valid California driver’s license with insurance.
At least one year of professional Student Services work at the entry trainee level, or equivalent graduate education.
Working knowledge of organization and program management, research and interviewing techniques, and principles of individual and group behavior; ability to acquire and apply knowledge of campus-specific goals and regulations; proficiency in data analysis, logical reasoning, and clear communication.
Preferred Qualifications
Enrollment in a Master’s program in Higher Education or Student Affairs (or related field).
Experience working with students from diverse socioeconomic, educational, or cultural backgrounds in a residential or community‑based setting.
