Position Description
Ryder is hiring an experienced Mid‑Level Diesel Technician in Saginaw, Michigan — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a Technician career you can feel good about.

Compensation

Hourly Pay: $24.50 per hour

Certification Bonus: $100 for each New ASE Certification up to $700

Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter

Sign On Bonus: $2,000 at 30 days and $2,000 at 90 days

Schedule: Monday–Friday

Hours: Second Shift 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Vocational or technical certification or post‑secondary degree preferred

Basic tools required

Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work, etc.)

Two or more years of classroom training and work experience preferred

Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred

Must obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire

Pass a Ryder Drug Test

Pass a DOT physical

Pass a Ryder road test

Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years

Responsibilities

Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties

Conduct standard vehicle maintenance, component inspections, and repairs

Perform preventive maintenance

Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computers when applicable

Identify root cause of basic failures and perform necessary repairs

Replace defective components as instructed

Perform facility maintenance duties

Interact with customers and drivers to determine nature of complaints

Utilize key functions of the Shop Management System and electronic documentation

Work in accordance with all federal/ provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)

Perform other support duties as required, including Service Island support
