Position Description

Salary & Benefits
Hourly Pay: $28.00 per hour
Certification Bonus: $100 per new ASE certification up to $700
Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 each quarter
Sign‑On Bonus: $2,000 at 30 days and $2,000 at 90 days
Schedule: Wednesday – Saturday
Hours: First Shift 6:00 am – 4:30 pm
Medical, Dental, Vision after 30 days
80 hours PTO your first year, starting Day 1

Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Vocational or technical certification, post‑secondary degree or technical certifications preferred
Basic tools required
Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including:
Routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
Basic diagnostics and repairs, including AC and electrical systems
Three (3) years or more relevant work experience preferred
All other certifications required by location
Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A, preferred
Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs & diagnostics on heavy‑and medium‑duty equipment
Knowledge of and ability to use computer skills (PC, Windows, mouse, etc.)
Must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background check
Responsibilities
Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties including:
Standard and preventive maintenance
Diagnosing complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers when applicable
Completing complex and detailed mechanical inspections & repairs with minimal supervision
Replacing defective components as instructed
Working unsupervised on most tasks
Perform facility maintenance duties
Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints once assigned a task
Utilize key functions of the shop management system and electronic documentation
Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT)
Act as a mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
Access and use internal and external maintenance documents as needed
Other support duties as required to support operations, including Service Island support
SBTIII training within 180 days (SBT220)
Complete two OEM online diagnostic scan tool software courses within 365 days (predominant OEM of fleet mix)
