Position Description
Ryder is hiring an experienced Mid‑Level Diesel Technician in Saginaw, Michigan, offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a career you can feel good about.

Benefits & Compensation

Hourly Pay: $24.50 per hour

Certification Bonus of $100 for each new ASE certification, up to $700

Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)

Sign on Bonus: $2,000 at 30 days and $2,000 at 90 days

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm

80 hours PTO your first year, starting Day 1

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)

Vocational or technical certification or post‑secondary degree (preferred)

Basic tools (required)

Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventive maintenance such as oil changes, brake and tire work (required)

Two (2) years or more of classroom training and work experience (preferred)

Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A (preferred)

Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire

Pass a Ryder Drug Test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and background/motor‑vehicle check (includes drug/alcohol verification from previous employers for last 3 years)

Responsibilities

Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties

Perform standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections and repairs

Perform preventive maintenance

Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer when applicable

Identify root causes of failures and perform required repairs

Replace defective components as instructed

Perform facility maintenance duties

Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints

Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation

Work in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)

Perform other support duties as necessary, including Service Island support
