Position Description
Mid‑Level Diesel Technician in Joplin, Missouri.
Hourly pay: $26.50.
Additional compensation includes certification bonus, quarterly bonus, and sign‑on bonuses as detailed below.
Compensation
Hourly pay: $26.50
Certification bonus: $100 per new ASE certification up to a maximum of $700
Quarterly bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)
Sign‑on bonus: $2,000 after 30 days and $2,000 after 90 days

Responsibilities
Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
Perform standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections.
Conduct preventive maintenance.
Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computers as applicable.
Identify root causes of failures and perform repairs as needed.
Replace defective components as instructed.
Perform facility maintenance duties.
Interact with customers or drivers to determine the nature of complaints for assigned tasks.
Utilize key functions of the shop management system and complete electronic documentation.
Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines, including safety, DOT, and MOT.
Perform other support duties as required to support operations, including Service Island support.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Vocational or technical certification, or post‑secondary degree or technical certifications.
Basic tools requirement.
Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventive maintenance such as oil changes, brake and tire work.
At least two years of combined classroom training and work experience, preferred.
Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A, preferred.
Must be able to obtain an eligible CDL within six months after hire.
Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification for the last three years.
