Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable HVAC Technician II to support facilities maintenance operations through preventive maintenance, system monitoring, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems across multiple buildings.
This role is responsible for performing routine maintenance such as filter replacements, assisting with installation and repair of HVAC systems, and monitoring system performance to maintain proper temperature and humidity levels. The HVAC Technician II will work alongside senior technicians while also operating independently to troubleshoot issues and ensure systems are functioning efficiently.
The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, follows safety and security protocols, and demonstrates the ability to read schematics, work with automated controls, and maintain tools and equipment. Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements
Minimum of four (4) years of full-time experience in HVAC repair, installation, or maintenance; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience performing preventive maintenance and diagnostics on HVAC and refrigeration systems
Experience assisting with installation and repair of commercial and/or residential HVAC systems
Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
Experience working with HVAC automated controls and system monitoring
Valid driver’s license and ability to operate work vehicles
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Experience Preferences
Possession of a State of Florida or local Journeyman HVAC license (or equivalent out-of-state certification)
Experience working in government, municipal, or large facility environments
Familiarity with building codes and compliance requirements
Experience working in secure or safety-sensitive environments
Certifications such as EPA Universal Certification or NATE (North American Technician Excellence)
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach throughout the workday
Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying environmental conditions
Ability to work indoors and outdoors, including exposure to heat, noise, dust, and mechanical equipment
Education Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent
Completion of a vocational or technical training program in HVAC
Education Preferences
Additional technical certifications in HVAC, refrigeration, or mechanical systems
Continuing education in HVAC controls, diagnostics, or energy efficiency systems
