
Litigation Assistant - TEMP-TO-HIRE - Roseville, CA

A small, well-established bankruptcy litigation firm in Roseville is seeking a Legal Assistant for a temp-to-hire opportunity. The firm is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented legal professional with strong litigation experience who can step in quickly and provide consistent support in a fast-paced insolvency and bankruptcy practice. This is a temp-to-hire role.
This is a fully on-site role supporting litigation matters in state and federal courts. The ideal candidate has solid federal e-filing experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage deadlines with minimal oversight.
Responsibilities
Manage attorney calendars, including scheduling meetings, depositions, mediations, hearings, client conferences, and travel
Track court deadlines, appearances, and statutory limitations to ensure compliance
Prepare, format, proofread, finalize, and file legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, correspondence, and court forms
Ensure filings comply with state and federal court rules, formatting requirements, and confidentiality standards
Handle electronic filing and service with courts and parties
Process incoming and outgoing mail
Maintain organized electronic case files with accurate labeling and flowsheets
Monitor court dockets and save incoming filings and client materials
Serve as a point of contact for clients, court personnel, and other legal professionals
Coordinate logistics for meetings, court appearances, and travel
Assist with new matter intake, file opening, calendaring, billing coordination, and expense processing when assigned
Enter and proof time entries
Route billing statements and invoices for timely processing
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
5+ years of litigation experience as a legal assistant or paralegal
Strong knowledge of federal court e-filing and procedures
Proficient understanding of State and Federal Rules of Court and California Code of Civil Procedure
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, DocuSign, Timeslips, and virtual meeting platforms
Experience with electronic calendaring and docketing systems
Ability to work collaboratively in a small, team-oriented environment
Typing speed required (candidate must be able to provide WPM)
