Cash Management Coordinator (Accounting Tech III): DORA/Division of Professions

Hybrid Workplace Arrangement
This position will be designated under the department’s hybrid workplace program. It will still be required to report to the department office on a scheduled basis and at the discretion of the supervisor, based on business need.

Salary
$4,238 - $5,500 monthly; hiring salary will be set commensurate with the successful candidate's qualifications and in compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.

Position Overview
The Division of Professions and Occupations (DPO) protects consumers in the state of Colorado through licensing and regulatory enforcement for approximately 50 professions, occupations, and businesses. This position supports the Centralized Services Manager as an internal and external-facing role focused on the division’s cash management team, providing customer support, licensing, examinations and statistics, and oversight of the division’s programs and systems.

Duties

Receive and verify the accuracy of receipts (cash, money orders, checks) against cash/check log reports and ensure all receipts balance with the report.

Enter fiscal payments, ensuring licensees are in the licensing system (entering licensee record, license type, fee type, revenue amounts).

Assist staff with accounting requirements and research, identify and address issues to improve operations.

Determine appropriate accounting codes for deposits and refunds.

Reconcile daily receipts against deposits, detect discrepancies, and track problems for correction.

Distribute payments by receiving, verifying, and recording warrants and EFT reports; research returned warrants and determine forwarding requirements.

Process board member reimbursements for 22 boards, including travel expenses.

Ensure purchase requisitions comply with applicable laws, rules, policies, and guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet one of the following:

Option 1: Experience

Three (3) years of technical accounting/bookkeeping experience, including reconciliation of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.

Experience with recording/tracking payments, validating and processing deposits, and processing purchase requisitions.

Option 2: Combination of Education and Experience

Associate’s degree in accounting, business, finance, public administration, education, communication, general studies, statistics, or related field.

One (1) year of technical accounting/bookkeeping experience, including reconciliation and the above functions, or a bachelor’s degree with similar experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with state fiscal and purchasing rules or comparable private sector policies.

Experience using Colorado Operations Resource Engine (CORE) or a comparable system.

Knowledge of accounting principles and financial data reporting.

Experience in a regulatory environment.

Experience processing travel reimbursements or purchases.

Experience analyzing documents for completeness and accuracy.

Experience with Colorado Interactive.
