Responsibilities
Under general supervision, this position provides direct support to the facility's Records Office by performing multi-step clerical tasks that require the interpretation and application of office procedures, rules, and regulations. Responsible for entering information into the Offender Information System. Records and updates Inmate Institutional Disciplinary Reports. Routinely communicates with other law enforcement agencies, judges, prosecutors, parole board members, probation and parole officers, attorneys, FBI agents, U.S. Marshals, and other penal institutions. Proofs, checks, sorts, and files forms, reports, and documents for inmate records. Answers and screens incoming calls, takes messages, and provides public information regarding offenders. Provides support to the Records Clerk as a lead worker in a clerical position. Performs other duties as assigned by the Records Clerk.
Qualifications
Graduation from a standard high school or the equivalent.
Four (4) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience performing routine office work.
College hours, related business school, or vocational training may be substituted through an established formula for the required experience.
