Responsibilities
The
Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS)
provides recreation therapy program oversight, including performance management and staff development of expressive therapy services. Responsible for assessing patients' leisure and recreational activities, providing age and developmentally appropriate therapy groups and establishing behavioral treatment goals in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Cedar Ridge.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in related recreation therapy field
required
Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) certification
required
One (1) to Three (3) years of experience in recreation therapy field working with a mental health population
preferred
with working knowledge of group leadership skills, age specific growth and development, crisis and behavior management.

Cedar Ridge Behavioral Hospital (a UHS facility) and Cedar Ridge Behavioral Hospital at Bethany (a UHS facility) provide inpatient and residential treatment services for ages 5-17 and adults. Our facilities offer structured, supportive environments with multidisciplinary treatment teams including psychiatrists, licensed therapists and specialized nurses to develop and implement treatment plans. Cedar Ridge encompasses a 116-bed acute psychiatric hospital and residential treatment center on a wooded campus with a pond, school, outdoor courtyard and playground. Cedar Ridge Behavioral Hospital at Bethany offers 56-bed psychiatric hospital services for adults, including crisis stabilization and medication management for disorders such as depression, anxiety, mood disorders, paranoia and schizophrenia. Our adult inpatient mental health treatment is for individuals over 18 with severe mental illness.
