Human Resources Technician Responsibilities
Human Resources Technicians provide non-routine administrative support for complex human resources programs, transactions, processes, and procedures within the County Human Resources Department. Responsibilities include:

Performing administrative clerical support work involving a variety of complex and specialized departmental programs and services.

Supporting the County’s HRIS/PeopleSoft system by processing a high volume of data entry transactions.

Assisting HR analysts, managers, and other staff with administering HR programs such as medical benefits, integrated leaves, wellness and employee assistance, commuter services, and HRIS/PeopleSoft employee data management.

Providing guidance on policies, procedures, practices, and regulations affecting personnel transactions.

Interpreting and applying technical and procedural information, and researching, processing, reviewing, and auditing a variety of transactions, documents, and records.

Qualifications

Option 1: One (1) year of full-time work experience with primary responsibility for specialized clerical duties in support of Human Resources or Personnel functions.

Option 2: Two (2) years of full-time work experience performing non‑routine office clerical duties that require independent decision making.

Associate’s degree or higher, and experience supporting human resources functions.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Experience with EMACS (PeopleSoft) HRIS and applicant tracking systems.

Conditions of Employment

Travel : Travel throughout the County is required. Employees must have a valid California Class C driver’s license and proof of automobile liability insurance. Mileage reimbursement is available.

Background Investigation : Candidates must pass a background investigation and a medical examination that includes drug screening.

Visa Sponsorship : The County does not consider candidates who require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
