Lead Accountant

One of Vaco's midmarket clients in the East Dallas area has given us the exclusive search to onboard a Lead Acquisitions Accountant due to continued growth of the company - the company closed on 5 acquisitions this year with more transactions lined up for 2026. The Lead Accountant will be responsible for shepherding the integration process along, making sure things are flowing correctly, validating results and the technical work related to mapping, review and process integration. This role will also include review-level oversight over the Staff Accountants on the team.

Compensation: $120-130K + bonus
Day-to-Day
Perform purchase price allocation (PPA) in accordance with ASC 805
Record acquisition-related journal entries, including goodwill, intangibles, and fair value adjustments
Support valuation specialists and auditors with acquisition-related documentation
Track and account for transaction costs, earn-outs, and contingent consideration
Lead accounting onboarding of acquired entities into ERP and financial systems
Align acquired company accounting policies with corporate GAAP standards
Assist with chart of accounts mapping and opening balance sheet reconciliations
Support integration of payroll, AR/AP, fixed assets, and revenue recognition processes
Prepare and review monthly close entries related to acquisitions
Ensure accurate consolidation of acquired entities into financial statements
Reconcile acquisition-related balance sheet accounts
Assist with quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements
Maintain documentation supporting acquisition accounting and integrations
Assist with internal and external audits related to M&A activity
