About the role
The Benefits Specialist will support the Leave Administration team by providing backend administrative support related to employee leave and accommodation requests. You will focus on state statutory leave programs (such as Colorado Family Leave and Minnesota Paid Leave) and ensures accurate system updates, documentation, and payroll support.
This position is not customerfacing or casemanagement-based. Instead, it is a detailoriented administrative role responsible for maintaining accurate records, processing required paperwork, and supporting internal workflows that ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
This is a fulltime contract role, remote, with a preference for candidates based in Minnesota for potential future conversion.
Key Responsibilities
Process leverelated paperwork during payroll close cycles
Update employee leave statuses in Workday and UKG
Manage employees moving on and off leave in internal systems
Completing and submitting required state statutory leave paperwork
Support pay processing, audits, and historical pay lookbacks (up to five years)
Manage shared email inboxes
Send policyrelated communications to employees and team members
Perform highvolume data entry and system updates related to leave approvals
Partner internally across HR, compensation, payroll, and hiring teams to resolve discrepancies
Qualifications
Entrylevel to earlycareer professionals encouraged to apply
We prefer previous experience in leave administration, accommodations, benefits, or HR operations, but do not require it.
Familiarity with payroll processes is a nicetohave, not required
Prior exposure to statutory leave programs
Experience with or willing to learn Workday, UKG, and ServiceNow
Confidence navigating multiple platforms and databases simultaneously
Familiarity with Microsoft tools (Excel, Outlook, Teams)

Base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $26-31/hr.
