Responsibilities
Perform preparation work prior to painting such as grinding, sanding, buffing and mask-off areas not to be painted
Fill cavities and dents as necessary and surfaces repaired area to attain required finish
Cleans and prepares surface of articles to be painted using solvent, sandpaper and wire brush
Select and mix paint to produce desired color and finish according to specifications
Applies paint to prepared surfaces adjusting sprayer valves and nozzle to regulate width and pressure of spray according to knowledge of painting techniques
Cleans spraying equipment thoroughly with solvent
Moves painted articles from preparation area to and from paint booth
Finish surfaces by polishing with sandpaper, pumice, compound, wax or other materials
Maintain clean and safe work environment
Works safely and follows all safety rules and operational procedures
Maintains cleanliness of spray booth
Positions articles in jigs or erects ladders or scaffolding
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Mechanically Inclined.
Detail orientated
Able to work in a team environment
Strong interest in continuous improvement
Strong work ethic
Leadership skills
Problem Solver
Pre-employment drug screening
Pass the Pulmonary test
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Physical Requirements
Lifting- Up to 50 lbs.
Standing-8 or more hours per day
Body Positions- Squatting, bending, flexing and extending both arms
Grasping- Both hands, up to 8 hours per day
Pushing Effort
Pulling
Mathematical Skills
Basic mathematical skills, addition, subtraction, multiplication.
Ability to read tape measure
Work Environment
Manufacturing facility - exposed to heat and cold
Personal Protective Equipment is always required.
Noise controlled environment.
Activity level is high - continuous overhead crane and forklift movement
