Job Description
The Shipping & Receiving Specialist IV will manage the flow of materials, products, and equipment. Responsible for ensuring that all incoming and outgoing shipments are handled correctly, efficiently, and safely for our customers or other locations.
Job Responsibilities & Requirements
Shift:
9:30 AM to 6:00 PM
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Unload trucks and other delivery vehicles, inspect packages for damage, and verify that the contents match the packing slip and purchase order. They must accurately document all received items and report any discrepancies or issues.
Package finished products for shipping. This includes building crates, shrink‑wrapping pallets, and ensuring all items are secure to prevent damage during transit. Also create and print shipping labels, packing lists, and other necessary documents. Complete transactions in ERP system.
Maintain accurate records of all materials and products in the shop's inventory. Use inventory management software to track stock levels, perform regular cycle counts, and assist with physical inventory audits.
Keep detailed logs of all shipping and receiving activities, including shipment dates, tracking numbers, and delivery confirmations. This ensures a clear audit trail and helps resolve any issues that may arise.
Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely. Keep work area clean and organized, following all safety protocols and procedures, especially when handling electrical equipment.
Pull parts from inventory, issue to work orders, pull parts for sales orders and stage for shipping.
Attendance at work during the scheduled shift is essential. This includes but is not limited to the ability to work overtime as required, to be present at work, arrive on time and be ready at the start of the shift.
Skills and Abilities
Education:
High school diploma required. Associate / bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, professional degree preferred.
Experience:
1-3 years of experience in related industry preferred.
Technical Skills:
Demonstrates strong proficiency in inventory management software, warehouse management systems, and ERP platforms. Experience in utilizing UPS and FedEx shipping systems, as well as third‑party logistics platforms with in‑depth knowledge of international shipping requirements. Knowledge in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Physical Stamina:
The ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.), stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
Attention to Detail:
Meticulous in verifying shipment details and inspecting items for quality and accuracy.
Communication:
Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with carriers, suppliers, and internal staff.
Certifications:
Previous forklift certification. Company specific training to be provided.
