Job Description
The Shipping & Receiving Specialist IV will manage the flow of materials, products, and equipment. Responsible for ensuring that all incoming and outgoing shipments are handled correctly, efficiently, and safely for our customers or other locations.
Shift:
9:30 AM to 6:00 PM
Responsibilities
Unload trucks and other delivery vehicles, inspect packages for damage, and verify that the contents match the packing slip and purchase order. Accurately document all received items and report any discrepancies or issues.
Package finished products for shipping, including building crates, shrink-wrapping pallets, and ensuring all items are secure to prevent damage during transit. Create and print shipping labels, packing lists, and other necessary documents. Complete transactions in the ERP system.
Maintain accurate records of all materials and products in the shop's inventory. Use inventory management software to track stock levels, perform regular cycle counts, and assist with physical inventory audits.
Keep detailed logs of all shipping and receiving activities, including shipment dates, tracking numbers, and delivery confirmations to ensure a clear audit trail.
Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely, maintaining a clean and organized work area and following all safety protocols and procedures, especially when handling electrical equipment.
Pull parts from inventory, issue to work orders, and stage for shipping as required.
Attend work during the regularly scheduled shift, including the ability to work overtime as required.
Skills and Abilities
Education:
High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience:
1–3 years of experience in a related industry preferred.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in inventory management software, warehouse management systems, and ERP platforms; experience with UPS and FedEx shipping systems and third‑party logistics platforms; knowledge of international shipping requirements; Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Physical Stamina:
Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.), stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
Attention to Detail:
Meticulous in verifying shipment details and inspecting items for quality and accuracy.
Communication:
Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with carriers, suppliers, and internal staff.
Certifications:
Forklift certification required; company‑specific training will be provided.
