Job Summary
Extension Assistant for 4-H Youth Development Graves County. Location: Mayfield, KY. The Extension Assistant will provide administrative support to the 4-H Youth Development program area and County Agent(s), report to an Extension Agent, and interact extensively with the public. The role requires knowledge of the Cooperative Extension Service’s philosophy, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures, and involves program support, teaching, recruitment & marketing, and record‑keeping conducted in a professional manner.
Maintain budget files in QuickBooks
Promote and organize new 4‑H clubs
Recruit members and volunteer leaders
Provide support and guidance to existing 4‑H clubs
Recruit and work with volunteers to conduct group projects, 4‑H achievement events, and public presentation programs
Serve all clientele
Shift: Monday‑Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Occasional nights, weekends or holidays may be required.
Physical requirements: job‑related travel; visiting clients at sites throughout the county (including farms); sitting, standing, and walking for long periods; handling average‑weight objects up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications
Driver’s License required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, Office 365, Teams, Skype for Business, Zoom)
Experience with QuickBooks
Preferred Experience
Education or prior experience working with youth and administrative support roles.
Salary
$15.30 – $20.00 per hour.
