Job Objective
Under a five‑year contract, the Data Systems Administrator will support the United States Marine Corps Forces, Central Command (MARCENT) and subordinate commands, providing professional services for MARCENT located aboard MacDill Air Force Base (AFB), Florida. The role supports the Communication Directorate (G‑6) within CONUS and OCONUS, providing C4 planning, validation, and policy advocacy to CENTCOM Communications and HQMC agencies.
Responsibilities
Provide system administration support for MARCENT classified and unclassified data services.
Define, improve, and promote architecture and standards based on ITIL best practices.
Assist in developing and maintaining mature security procedures.
Provide senior‑level guidance on functionality, performance, and security audits, generate executive reports outlining risk, and provide technology recommendations.
Document and monitor server operation, performance, and capacity.
Maintain and be accountable for the direct support of classified and unclassified command services.
Design, document, and write deliverable plans for complex implementations.
Write and maintain system documentation, SOPs, and desktop procedures.
Ensure services are available 0600 to 1800 Monday through Friday (excluding federal holidays and maintenance schedule hours) and, when required, be available for after‑core‑hour consultation and recall.
Account for system maintenance schedule every Thursday from 1900 to 2300.
Maintain required DoD IAT Level 1 or above or SEC +, NET + certifications and be qualified on VMware virtual server and desktop management.
Qualifications
Certification & Education
Current U.S. passport with ability to travel and work overseas.
Ability to meet COMSEC briefing and local‑element management certification requirements under OPNAVINST 2201.4, DoD Instruction 8523.01, and AF Manual 17‑1301.
Current DoD IAT Level 1 or above, or SEC +, NET +, Voice/Video Network Certification, and qualification on VMware virtual server and desktop management; CISCO certification preferred.
SECRET security clearance.
Experience
Preferred: Prior experience with ITIL best‑practice architecture and standards.
Preferred: Prior experience supporting MARCENT classified and unclassified data services.
Preferred: Prior experience with server operation, performance, and capacity.
Five years of military experience.
Travel
Contractor personnel must support projected travel to MARCENT AOR and supporting locations, including Bahrain, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, France, Germany, United Kingdom, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Iraq, Israel, Afghanistan, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Djibouti, Cyprus, Turkey, Italy, and Greece. Availability for travel on less than 24‑hour notice to support forward‑deployed forces is required.
