Job Summary
The Ohio Attorney General's Office is seeking an experienced individual for a BCI Special Agent vacancy in the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) Section, Force Investigations Unit (North). This position will primarily be remote with occasional in‑person requirements for training and operations. The headquarters is located in Richfield, OH.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:

Serve as a case agent for overt or covert criminal investigations related to use of force, including officer‑involved incidents.

Conduct field duties such as crime scene processing, subject, victim, and witness interviewing.

Develop informants and confidential sources.

Conduct raids, searches, and surveillance.

Perform background investigations.

Make arrests.

Gather, evaluate, and forward criminal intelligence information.

Submit investigative reports for criminal and/or administrative actions.

Act as liaison and cooperate with local, state, and federal law‑enforcement agencies.

Provide courtroom evidence and testify in court.

Confere with prosecuting attorneys.

Deliver speeches or presentations to specialized audiences or the general public.

Work Location Requirements
The candidate must reside in or be willing to relocate within 90 days to one of the following counties: Ashland, Ashtabula, Carroll, Columbiana, Coshocton, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Harrison, Holmes, Jefferson, Knox, Lake, Lorain, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Richland, Stark, Summit, Trumbull, Tuscarawas, Wayne.

Qualifications

Completion of an undergraduate core program in criminal justice, social sciences (e.g., criminology, sociology, psychology) or a related field.

OPOTC Peace Officer certification.

Two years of experience in investigations with a law‑enforcement agency.

Valid driver’s license.

Or 2 years of experience as a BCI Investigator (Class No. 26130AG) with OPOTC Peace Officer certification or equivalent, or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

Compensation
$37.34/hr – $52.64/hr.

Schedule & Hours
Full‑time; variable
on‑standard work hours.
