Position Summary
RN First Assistant – Operating Room at Providence Cedars‑Sinsai Tarzana Medical Center, California. This per‑diem position works 8‑hour day shifts.
Reporting to the Nurse Manager, this role assists the primary surgeon pre‑, intra‑, and post‑operatively with organized instruction and supervised practice, and acts in the absence of a qualified physician.
Responsibilities
Assist the primary surgeon pre‑, intra‑, and post‑operatively.
Provide organized instruction and supervise practice.
Act in the absence of a qualified physician when required.
Required Qualifications
Successful completion of an RN First Assisting course.
California Registered Nurse license upon hire.
BLS certification from American Heart Association upon hire.
California Fire and Life Safety Card – National Organization within 30 days of hire.
Minimum three years of peri‑operative nursing practice as both scrub and circulator.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.

Schedule: Per‑diem, Day shifts. Pay range: $87.24 per hour (base). Additional compensation may be available such as shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
