Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Part Time Hospital Concierge – KP 3 PPCU Night Shift (24.5 hours). In this role, the successful candidate will support patient care activities of the nursing unit by maintaining patient records, supplies, and the environment; coordinate activities with unit staff and other departments; communicate clearly and accurately with patients, families, and visitors; and incorporate NYU Core Values in all aspects of job performance.

Job Responsibilities

Demonstrate knowledge of the organization's Core Values and incorporate them into performance.

Maintain the flow of computerized and paper documents; ensure all forms are organized.

Assist in maintaining a safe environment by screening for unauthorized individuals and notifying appropriate personnel.

Demonstrate cultural competency and awareness of the needs and behaviors of specific patient age groups.

Complete discharges, transfers, and expirations into the electronic medical record (EMR = ICIS) in a timely, accurate manner.

Support patient care activities by maintaining unit orderliness, adequacy of supplies, and necessary resources for patient flow.

Facilitate communication among unit staff, patients, families, visitors, and the health‑care team.

Present a positive image at all times while providing information and forwarding inquiries to appropriate staff.

Respect patient confidentiality, privacy, dignity, and rights.

Show accountability for supplies, equipment, and environmental support.

Assist with data entry every four hours for staffing, census, and daily data collection.

Assist in collecting data for the unit's Quality and Performance Improvement Program, including patient satisfaction and other measures.

Assists in orienting new unit clerks.

Recognize own limitations and request assistance when needed.

Discuss educational concerns and goals with the Nurse Manager or appropriate leadership.

Seek learning resources for identified learning needs.

Participate in unit meetings and conferences.

Complete annual mandatory education requirements for patient unit clerks.

Function as a respectful member of the health‑care team.

Receive packages, mail, flowers, and arrange prompt delivery.

Maintain confidentiality regarding all patients and other medical‑center related information.

Respond promptly to patient call lights, patient and family requests, and to the healthcare team.

Respond immediately as directed to potential and actual emergency situations.

Utilize hospital communications and devices appropriately (computers, phone system, paging system).

Report to and maintain communications with nurse manager, nursing leadership, or charge nurse.

Provide the link for effective communication within the nursing unit and other departments.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Competency: Computer literacy including keyboard facility, data entry, use of hospital intranet; evidence of excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication, and creative problem‑solving.

Preferred Qualifications

Clerical, customer service, and communications‑related experience desirable.

Bilingual skills desirable.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Salary
The salary range for this role is $30.15 – $30.15 hourly. Actual salaries depend on experience, specialty, education, and hospital need, and do not include bonuses, incentive, differential pay, or other compensation.
