Summary
This position is assigned to the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Recreational Lodging Program; Fleet Readiness (N92); Commander, Navy Installations Command; NAS Key West. The incumbent performs front desk and/or reservation functions for the MWR Recreational lodging program, including operations of RV Parks, Vacation Rentals, and campgrounds.
Responsibilities
Utilizes the Property Management System (PMS) to access guest information, retrieve, change, or cancel reservations as requested, register guests, verify registration information, secure a credit card for incidental expenses, and authorize credit card for room charges.
Provides assistance in handling customer complaints, involving management as necessary.
Receives requests and processes reservations within established guidelines; offers waitlist or alternative lodging options when rooms/spaces are not available.
Registers and assigns rooms/spaces to guests, manages records of occupied rooms/spaces and guest accounts, and processes payments.
Maintains a change fund, prepares Close Bank Report, and deposits cash receipts at the end of each shift.
Ensures guest security and privacy are maintained at all times.
Interacts professionally with guests, answering questions about the facility, amenities, and local attractions.
Inventories all keys and supplies at the front desk, keeping the lobby area clean.
Runs and prints reports from the PMS such as Expected Arrivals, Departure List, In-House Guest List and Night Audit reports.
Answers phones and transfers calls, logs trouble calls in the PMS, and relocates guests to a different room when required.
Retrieves Lost and Found items and contacts guests accordingly.
Conditions of Employment
Meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and pass a successful background investigation.

Complete a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process requiring two forms of identification.
May be required to pass pre-employment examinations.
Hold a valid State driver's license to operate motor vehicles.
Have salary paid by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
Reside within a 50‑mile radius of the hiring base.
Work on weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts as required.
Work a flexible schedule with non‑regular hours up to 40 hours weekly.
Accept the REAL ID act requirement for visitors accessing Government Facilities.
Qualifications
One year of specialized experience directly related to the duties described, equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression.
Knowledge of daily front desk operations of a hotel or RV Parks.
Understanding of basic principles, concepts, regulations related to hospitality operations.
Experience with automated property management system(s).
Skill in resolving customer complaints.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Basic math and reading skills.
Ability to handle, control, and account for large amounts of cash.
Effective oral and written communication in English.
Additional Information
Position requires access to IT II system and/or PII; an ANACI investigation (SF 86) is required.
Required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE‑450, upon entering the position and annually.
Salary is dependent on experience and/or education.
For positions requiring travel more than twice per year, a Government‑issued Travel Card may be required.
