Responsibilities
Perform MRI exams using standard imaging protocols, adjusting parameters to optimize image quality while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Screen patients for contraindications, verify identity, explain the procedure; monitor for patient distress and respond promptly.
Position patients and coils accurately; select appropriate sequences, optimize parameters, and ensure proper artifact reduction for diagnostic quality.
Maintain strict safety practices, including MRI safety screening, infection control, and device/implant checks; coordinate with radiologists on image interpretation.
Document procedures, review images for technical adequacy, and communicate findings per department protocol; collaborate with technologists, nurses, and physicians as needed.
Maintain equipment and quality control processes; report malfunctions and participate in safety drills as required.
Requirements
ARRT MRI certification (MRI) required.
AHA BLS certification required.
Minimum 2 years of recent MRI experience within the specialty.
Ability to work 10-hour night shifts and to fulfill on-call requirements.
Ability to work effectively in a hospital imaging setting.
