Position Summary
This position is responsible for laboratory duties, including assisting with planning, execution, and data collection for a research project, and working under close supervision.
Responsibilities
Laboratory Support and Experiment Preparation (65%) – Assist with laboratory management and supporting scientific investigations and experiments, prepare buffers and reagents for experiments.
Data Collection and Analysis (10%) – Record and analyze data.
Sample Handling (10%) – Collect, prepare, and/or test samples.
Communication of Results (5%) – Present results to senior staff.
Documentation and Reporting (5%) – Write reports, reviews, and summaries.
Professional Development (5%) – Keep up to date with relevant scientific and technical developments.
Required Qualifications
Working knowledge of research functions.
Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to assist with research experiments under supervision.
Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Salary & Benefits
This is a non‑exempt, bi‑weekly paid position.
This is an 8‑month, full‑time (40 hours/week), limited (temporary) appointment eligible for UC benefits, with the possibility of extension up to 18 months contingent on funding.
