Destination Madison is hiring an
HR & Operations Coordinator
to support recruiting, onboarding, HR administration, and day-to-day office operations that help create an outstanding employee experience.
Primary Responsibilities
Coordinate the talent acquisition process: job postings, phone screens, interview scheduling, and candidate communication
Facilitate new-hire onboarding: schedules, paperwork, orientation content, and cross-team coordination
Serve as primary administrator for the HRIS/timekeeping system; maintain accurate employee records
Support payroll processing as a backup to Accounting, as needed
Assist with benefits administration: enrollments, changes, and vendor communication
Help maintain a well-functioning office environment: vendor coordination, supply ordering, meeting setup, and visitor support
Support employee culture initiatives, including recognition and employee events
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field and 1–2 years of related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
Working knowledge of HR practices, employment law, payroll processes, and benefits administration
Experience with HR software/HRIS, Microsoft Office, and other digital systems
Strong communication skills across audiences and channels
Highly detail-oriented with a commitment to confidentiality, quality, and accuracy
Excellent organization and time management skills; able to manage multiple deadlines
Comfortable learning new tools/tasks and approaching work with a continuous-improvement mindset
Work Location and Schedule
This full-time role is primarily based in our downtown Madison office, with flexibility to adjust schedule based on job duties and current organizational policies. Evening and weekend work may be required for events and organization functions.
Compensation and Benefits
Expected pay range:
$23.00–$25.00/hour
(commensurate with experience). A comprehensive benefits package is offered to all full-time team members (see Careers page for details).
