Data Center Technician

Direct Line is hiring entry-level Data Center Technicians to work on cabling and fiber installs inside large data centers in New Carlisle, IN. Experience in low voltage, electrical work, or structured cabling is welcome.
What You'll Be Doing
Pull, route, terminate, label, and dress copper and fiber cabling
Install and remove network cabling and equipment in live data centers
Work in MDF and IDF closets
Install ladder racks and seismic bracing above and below raised floors
Read blueprints, floor plans, and job drawings
Help with copper and fiber testing and troubleshooting
Keep work areas clean, organized, and professional
Follow all jobsite safety rules and standards
Take direction from lead and senior technicians
Learn advanced skills such as fiber splicing, labeling systems, and service swaps
What We're Looking For
Background in low voltage, electrical, telecom, or cabling work
Comfortable using basic hand tools
Understand jobsite safety and take it seriously
Can read floor plans and follow instructions
Willing to learn fiber, testing, and data center standards
Reliable, shows up on time, and works well with a team
Understand how to work on customer sites professionally
This Role Is Ideal For
Entry-level low voltage techs
Electrical apprentices transitioning into data centers
Technicians looking to level up skills and pay long-term
Physical & Job Requirements
Able to pull cable, climb ladders, and work on raised floors
Lift and carry up to 50 lbs
On your feet most of the day: walking, standing, bending
Good hand dexterity for tools, terminations, and testing
Comfortable working in active data center environments
