Low Voltage Electrician
We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Electrician to join our team in a dynamic role that involves leading and managing electrical projects. This position requires hands-on work in both residential and commercial environments, including new construction and service projects. The role is a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity, allowing both the company and the candidate to ensure the best fit.
Responsibilities
Lead, train, and manage a crew of 1-2 individuals, possibly up to 3.
Work independently and collaboratively on various projects.
Read and interpret blueprints effectively.
Troubleshoot electrical systems and plan layouts and installations.
Install, repair, and troubleshoot electrical and security systems.
Install and test CAT5e, CAT6, Fiber Optic, Coaxial, and various low voltage cabling.
Terminate fiber and copper cabling according to industry standards.
Install limited energy cabling infrastructure, including access control systems, IP CCTV systems, wireless networks, and intrusion detection systems.
Handle electrical systems such as light fixtures, switches, alarms, and panel boxes.
Familiarize with and work with various types of pipes, both metal and non-metal.
Perform rough-in to finished work, trenching, and site work.
Communicate effectively with field and office personnel.
Maintain a high standard of safety practices.
Essential Skills
3+ years of experience running a crew of at least 1-2 individuals.
5+ years of experience in commercial and residential settings.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.
Experience with office fit-outs and renovations.
Own hand and cordless power tools (minimum 80% of the listed tools) and proper PPE.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
OSHA-10 or OSHA-30 certification.
Journeyman Certification.
Bucket truck experience.
Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Allentown, PA.
Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
