Job Title: Cleanroom Assembler

Job Description

The Cleanroom Assembler plays a key role in the production and packaging of components used in life-enhancing medical devices. Working at a modern manufacturing site in Grand Rapids, MI, you will contribute directly to safe, high-quality products by performing assembly tasks in a controlled cleanroom environment. This role supports a mission-driven organization focused on alleviating pain, restoring health, and extending life for patients around the world.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of production assembly operations, ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive tasks, in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Follow visual aids, method layouts, diagrams, schematics, process flow sheets, and written or verbal assembly instructions to complete work accurately and efficiently.

Set up initial layouts and use appropriate tools to prepare, assemble, and process products according to specifications.

Make continuity checks on work in process and completed products to ensure proper function and quality.

Conduct quality inspections on the processing line in accordance with established quality specifications and requirements.

Operate packaging machines as needed to package components and finished products safely and correctly.

Box finished products and apply labeling materials in line with packaging and identification standards.

Maintain a clean and organized work area within the cleanroom, adhering to all safety, cleanliness, and contamination-control procedures.

Wear required personal protective equipment at all times in the cleanroom, including eyewear, ear plugs, hair net, and protective gowning.

Collaborate with team members to support continuous improvement, meet production goals, and uphold high standards of safety and quality.

Essential Skills

Ability to perform general labor and assembly tasks in a production environment.

Capability to follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Comfort working in a cleanroom environment while wearing personal protective equipment such as eyewear, ear plugs, hair net, and protective gowning.

Ability to read and follow visual aids, diagrams, schematics, process flow sheets, and written or verbal instructions.

Attention to detail to perform continuity checks and basic quality verifications on work in process and finished products.

Willingness and ability to operate basic production and packaging equipment after training.

Assembler role with no prior experience required; entry-level candidates are welcome.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience working in a cleanroom manufacturing environment.

Experience in medical device assembly or other regulated manufacturing settings.

Experience using measuring devices and basic hand tools.

As a clean room technician, even at an entry level.

Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Ability to work effectively as part of a production team and communicate clearly with co-workers.

Work Environment
This position is based in a modern, air-conditioned cleanroom manufacturing facility in Grand Rapids, MI. You will work primarily in a seated position performing detailed assembly and packaging tasks. The environment is highly controlled, with strict adherence to cleanliness and contamination‑control procedures. Personal protective equipment is required in the cleanroom and typically includes eyewear, ear plugs, a hair net, and protective gowning. Work is performed on a production floor using visual aids, diagrams, and standard manufacturing tools, as well as packaging machinery. The role is scheduled on 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, from 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM. Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, MI.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $20.00/hr.
