Job Description
Quality Control Technician
Huntsman is seeking a Quality Control Technician supporting the Advanced Materials Division located in Ashtabula, Ohio. This position will report to the Quality Manager.
Job Scope
Perform routine laboratory Quality Control functions, including but not limited to wet chemical, physical, instrumental analysis, and statistical analysis.
In summary, as the Quality Control Technician, you will:
Perform routine laboratory Quality Control functions, including but not limited to wet chemical, physical, instrumental analysis, and statistical analysis.
Perform data entry, housekeeping, waste management, inventory levels, equipment repair and maintenance, and reporting to production.
Conform to safe laboratory practices in accordance with Chemical Hygiene Plan and Chemical Plant requirements, and regulations as well as supporting the Zero Harm initiative.
Maintain working knowledge of testing procedures, protocols, and priorities for production areas.
Other duties as required.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in applied science or 3+ years laboratory experience
Working laboratory knowledge
Skills and Knowledge
Attention to detail and good dexterity/hand-eye coordination
Intermediate math skills
Critical thinking
PC literacy including Microsoft Suite, SAP, and OpenLab
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Must be a self-starter with a "can-do attitude" that can work independently with minimal supervision
Must have a high degree of safety awareness in job approach and willingness to wear proper protective equipment as needed
Working Environment
Must have the ability to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays and be subject to last-minute scheduling changes
Must be willing to accept overtime and be available for call-ins when necessary
