TECH - MULTI MODALITY CT/MRI- Full Time*

SUMMARY:

Performs a variety of Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures and Computed Tomography (CT) procedures for diagnosis, providing appropriate care and service to patients of all age groups. The CT/MRI Technologist exercises independence, ingenuity and initiative while performing exams, assuming responsibility for the patient’s preparation, monitoring, care, and safety.
HOURS:

11:30 am‑8:00 pm
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review patient history, gather pertinent previous studies, and examine records to ensure the appropriateness of the ordered examination.
Perform all routine aspects of CT/MRI procedures including startup, test scans, program selection, media injections, filming and exam processing.
Effectively monitor patient safety at all times, interview patients prior to the exam, and discuss potential problems with the radiologist if necessary.
Monitor equipment to ensure safety and proper functioning; report any potential or actual problems to the Director of Radiology promptly.
Assist with patient lifting, positioning, and transfer on/off the exam table.
Accurately explain CT/MRI procedures, ensure patient comfort, and position the patient for successful completion of the exam following the radiologist protocol.
Operate complex radiographic equipment to obtain diagnostic X‑rays, selecting proper technical factors and utilizing immobilization devices.
Complete standard consultation forms and maintain accurate records of all procedures in a logbook.
Clean and maintain orderliness in the assigned area, ensuring adequate supplies and notifying the Director of Radiology of any shortages.
Adhere to universal precautionary measures as outlined in the infection control program.
Develop X‑ray films utilizing automatic equipment.
Participate in formal teaching programs and in‑service education classes as required.
Perform other related duties as required, such as orienting new personnel to department procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years of experience preferred in a hospital or clinic environment.
High School Diploma and graduation from an accredited CT/MRI educational program.
Experience with all age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric.
Previous experience on Siemens MRI equipment is a plus.
Proficiency with Siemens CT equipment (16‑slice and 64‑slice).
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT/CRT) Certification (MR) and CT; CPR certification.
Technologist ARRT (MR).
Current AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professionals (AHA BLS Healthcare) – required.
