Full time, 40 hours per week, 7 on / 7 off schedule. Pay range: $59.00 - $95.20 per hour.
Position Overview
AtriumHealth Charlotte is looking for an experienced full‑time advanced practice provider (APP) specializing in psychiatry to provide quality mental health services to patients in the Charlotte area and surrounding community. The position is occupied by board certified psychiatric nurse practitioners (PMHNP‑BC) and/or physician assistants (PA) who are specifically trained and proficient in psychiatric services under the direct supervision of psychiatrists working for the Atrium Health Psychiatry Service Line.
The provider will perform telepsychiatric evaluations and medication management for adult patients throughout the lifespan. The APP is responsible for evaluating, stabilizing, and treating patients with acute and chronic mental health and substance use disorders, including severe episodes related to depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and withdrawal from drugs and alcohol.
Position Responsibilities
Virtual telepsychiatric services
Full‑time, 7 on/7 off schedule
Weekends and holidays required; no call
Teaching opportunities with APP students, residents, and/or fellows
Eligible for excess shift pay, moonlighting pay, and performance incentive bonuses up to 5%
Earn $2,500 / 40 hours of CME credits
Position Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program; current North Carolina license and prescriptive privileges with DEA registration; BLS certification from AHA required.
NPs must hold a master’s or doctorate in nursing practice and certification as a psychiatric NP from a nationally recognized certifying body.
Physician Assistants preferably certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants; current or pending CAQ certification preferred.
+1 year of experience preferred.
Demonstrates appropriate critical thinking and interpersonal skills, and the ability to evaluate, assess, and monitor co‑morbid medical conditions secondary to mental illness in consultation with medical attending.
Licensure in North Carolina or South Carolina.
