General Duties
In alignment with the NWRESD mission, the SLP supports student communication competence and participates on educational teams to inform decisions related to general education intervention, evaluation, eligibility, and services. The SLP plans and implements ongoing speech and language programs/services in coordination with school district services. The role involves working with students with the full range of communication disorders, including language, articulation, fluency, voice/resonance, and swallowing.
Qualifications
Required:
Licensure through the Oregon Board of Examiners for Speech Language Pathology
Master\'s degree in Speech Language Pathology
Valid Driver\'s License; available transportation and proof of auto insurance
Preferred:
Bilingual and biliterate in Spanish
Experience with children with a variety of disabilities and needs
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Professionalism and effective human relations
Regular consultation with immediate supervisor
Proficiency with computer and internet-based applications (email, Google Suite, MS Word, etc.)
Essential Functions
Ensure that all students receive high-quality, culturally and linguistically sensitive competent services
Provide language development support for linguistically and/or culturally diverse populations
Deliver interventions appropriate to age and learning needs, selected through evidence-based decision-making per IEP/IFSP documentation
Design school-wide speech-language services using a continuum of service delivery models in the least restrictive environment
Address social, academic, and vocational needs impacting educational goals
Collaborate with teachers and parents to increase access to language in the curriculum and support literacy
Identify instructional strategies, modifications, and accommodations with the educational team
Identify, implement, and support students using augmentative communication devices
Maintain records and reports (including Medicaid billing, if applicable)
Screen and identify communication disorders in children with special needs
Act as a member of the multidisciplinary team during assessment and evaluation of articulation, voice, fluency, and language impairments
Maintain IEP/IFSP records per district guidelines and timelines
Prepare and complete documentation on time (evaluations, progress reports, transition reports, data collection)
Attend team, school, and district meetings as necessary
Access professional development to enhance services
Conduct hearing screenings as needed
May mentor or supervise graduate SLP students, clinical fellows, or new SLPs
May supervise SLP-Assistants and/or paraprofessionals
Travel between locations as required
Perform other duties as assigned
