Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced or Senior Lean Practitioner (Level 4 or 5) to support the BDS Lean Organization in Tukwila, WA. As a Lean Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in driving Lean initiatives and mindset across the organization and partner with stakeholders to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall performance.
Position Responsibilities
Coach and facilitate Lean activities and initiatives across various programs & functions
Teach and apply applicable lean tools (e.g. Problem solving, Kaizen workshops, 3p, Value Stream mapping, Process mapping, 5s) and process analysis to identify areas for improvement
Develop, deploy and execute integrated continuous improvement strategy and assist with its strategic deployment
Develop and implement Lean training programs for employees at all levels
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive continuous improvement efforts, facilitate cross‑team best‑practice sharing, and promote replication of successful process improvements across the organization.
Utilize data analysis and metrics to measure the effectiveness of Lean initiatives
Coach, mentor and educate stakeholders in Lean principles and practices
Prepare and present reports on progress and outcomes to management
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in Lean methodologies
Basic Qualifications (Required)
5+ years of experience using Lean Principles and/or Continuous Improvement practices and tools in the workplace (e.g. Problem solving, Kaizen workshops, 3p, Value Stream Mapping, Process mapping, 5S)
5+ years of experience working in cross‑functional teams
5+ years of experience teaching Lean Principles, Tools and Concepts
Willing and able to work a variable shift (primarily 1st shift)
Willing and able to travel domestically and potentially internationally
Preferred Qualifications (Desired)
Bachelor’s degree or higher
5+ years of experience in Aerospace, Fabrication, or manufacturing environment
5+ years of Experience in Quality Management System (QMS)/Boeing Production System (BPS) or equivalent
Lean Six Sigma Certification
Conflict of Interest
Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.
Security Clearance & Export Control Requirements
This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. A “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.62 is required, including U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Relocation
Relocation assistance is not offered. Candidates must live in or be willing to relocate to the immediate area at their own expense.
Travel
Position requires local travel between sites (Tukwila, Renton, Everett) while based in Tukwila. Other travel may include up to 50% of the time.
Shift
This role will be on 1st shift.
