Position Overview
We are seeking a Quality Engineer – Quality Improvement responsible for driving quality performance across the full product and process lifecycle, from initial concept through production and post‑delivery support. This role leads cross‑functional efforts to identify, prioritize, and resolve quality issues while implementing sustainable improvements that enhance reliability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate thrives in environments requiring ownership, coordination, and disciplined execution of improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support Lean manufacturing initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, and throughput
Apply Lean tools (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Root Cause Analysis, etc.) to identify and eliminate waste
Utilize A3 problem‑solving methodology to investigate issues and implement sustainable corrective actions
Support and align improvement activities with Policy Deployment (Hoshin Kanri) objectives and strategic goals
Analyze quality data and process metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive process standardization and best practices
Support internal audits, corrective/preventive actions (CAPA), and continuous improvement projects
Train team members on Lean principles, A3 thinking, and quality tools
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field
3+ years of experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, or continuous improvement roles
Strong working knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean, SPC, FMEA, Control Plans)
Experience leading cross‑functional initiatives and influencing stakeholders without direct authority
Experience with A3 problem‑solving methodology and understanding of Policy Deployment (Hoshin Kanri)
Strong analytical and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
Experience in high‑mix, low‑volume manufacturing environments
Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, and advanced quality planning processes
Physical Demands:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Occasional standing and walking within the office
Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment
Visual acuity to read screens, documents, and reports
Occasional reaching, bending, or stooping to access file drawers, cabinets, or office supplies
Lifting and carrying items up to 20 pounds occasionally (e.g., office supplies, packages)
