Overview
Vacancies exist for Mental Health Therapist for the 2025-2026 School Year within the Division of Student Services at the Chester County Intermediate Unit. These are 190-day (10-month) positions located countywide. Qualifications
Licensed mental health professional (LSW, LCSW, or LPC) or has passed a national board certification exam in a related field and is eligible for and has initiated the PA state licensing process required.
A Master’s Degree and at least one year experience in a CASSP system, school, or employed by a licensed mental health services agency or subcontracted agency, required
PDE School Social Worker Educational Specialist Certificate PK-12 preferred
Documented training and experience in positive behavior supports, team coordination, agency collaboration, applied and cognitive behavioral counseling
Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License
Current PA Child Abuse History, PA Criminal and FBI Fingerprint Clearance, required
Duties & Responsibilities
This position is responsible for facilitating and providing direct therapeutic interventions consisting of group and individual therapy, treatment planning, and designing and implementing effective interventions and strategies to promote therapeutic recovery. The therapist is the lead team member responsible for coordinating therapeutic intervention and for completing required documentation such as treatment and discharge plans, psycho-social history, daily progress notes, and insurance forms. The therapist maintains close communication with the child\'s parent(s) to monitor and promote progress.
Salary (2025-26 Rates)
Project Staff, Band 14 (190 days/10 months)
$48,705 - $60,881 annually - (Placement on band is based on direct full-time experience as a licensed clinician)
Schedule
Monday - Friday (based on district calendar). 190 days (10 months), 7.5 hrs/day.
