Produce Clerk – Full Time or Part Time.
Department: Produce. Job Status: Full Time or Part Time. FLSA Status: Non-Exempt. Reports To: Produce Manager. Grade/Level: High School or Equivalent. Positions Supervised: None. Work Schedule: Shift hours that best serve customers to be scheduled by Store Manager. Nights and Weekends required. Amount of Travel Required: No travel required.
Position Summary
Assist Produce Manager in the operation of the produce department, including ordering, merchandising, rotating product, inventorying merchandise, and managing profitability.
Essential Functions
Maintain produce case and keep rotated at all times.
Responsible for the overall appearance and eye appeal of the sales floor.
Assist Produce Manager in ordering all produce.
Assist Produce Manager in keeping cooler dates organized and properly rotated.
Assist Produce Manager in calling in credits within the allowed time.
Assist Produce Manager with the four‑week period end produce inventory.
Assist Produce Manager with recording and maintaining accurate bookkeeping systems including weekly and monthly produce purchases.
Provide excellent customer service – friendly, courteous, and prompt.
Other job‑related tasks as needed.
Position Qualifications
Education
Less than high school education.
Experience
No prior experience necessary.
Skills & Abilities
Must possess basic math skills.
Computer Skills
Basic computer skills as needed.
Other Requirements
Will be required to wear a back belt.
Physical Demands
Stand constantly 10 lbs or less. Walk frequently 11‑20 lbs. Sit occasionally 21‑50 lbs. Handling/fingering constantly 51‑100 lbs. Reach outward frequently. Reach above shoulder frequently. Climb occasionally. Squat or kneel frequently. Bend frequently. Push/pull: 12 lbs or less constantly; 13‑25 lbs frequently; 26‑40 lbs frequently; 41‑100 lbs frequently.

Vision: Near, Distance.
