
Analyst, Asset Management – Related Affordable

Responsibilities
The Analyst, Asset Manager will be an integral part of the Asset Management Team (“AM Team”) responsible for executing the business plan for a portfolio of affordable multi‑family assets owned by Related Affordable. This role will support the Vice President – Asset Management in various tasks related to assessing market conditions, operations, property conditions, staffing, compliance, capital expenditures, rent collection, and leasing opportunities with property management for each property within the portfolio. The Analyst, Asset Manager will report to the Vice President – Asset Management and work closely with the Portfolio Management Team. This position will be onsite five days a week at our Dallas office.
Core responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
Asset manage a portfolio of approximately 40 assets
Work closely with the Portfolio Management Team (NOI procurement) to contribute to standard reporting packages, such as budget variance reports and site inspection reports
Conduct periodic inspections of all assets in designated portfolio with particular attention to any troubled assets
Assist in identifying and escalating significant issues to the Vice President – Asset Management and the Portfolio Management Team
Attend weekly asset management calls to learn and contribute to discussions on best practices
Participate in regular portfolio management meetings that are relevant to assigned properties
Contribute to the annual property budgeting process for assigned properties
Monthly operations review of portfolio and presenting monthly watch list for applicable assets
Collaborate with the Portfolio Management Team to update property database
Assist the Portfolio Management Team to maximize Section 8 contract rents for the sub‑portfolio
Support budget‑based rent increase requests as needed
Collaborate with the Portfolio Management to review operations, procedures, and spending to identify opportunities for implementing best practices
Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.
Anticipated base salary range: $70,000 – $80,000
Actual base salary within the anticipated range will be determined by several components including, but not limited to, the individual’s experience, ski lls, qualifications, and market factors.
Qualifications
Minimum of 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in commercial real estate, preferably with an owner, lender, manager, syndicator, agency, or real estate consulting group
BS/BA degree preferred
Basic knowledge of finance, operations, and accounting principles in commercial real estate, with a willingness to learn; Affordable Housing knowledge is a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Demonstrated eagerness to learn, contribute, and grow within the team
Ability to collaborate effectively with property management and ownership teams
A diplomatic and assertive approach, coupled with self‑motivation
Curiosity and a willingness to explore new approaches and solutions
Must have the flexibility to travel to properties
