Key Responsibilities
Draft, prepare, and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, financial affidavits, parenting plans.
Ensure compliance with Florida Family Law Rules of Procedure and disclosure requirements.
Coordinate and manage discovery materials and client financial documents.
Manage attorney's calendar (court hearings, depositions, mediation, client meetings, trial deadlines).
Assist with trial preparation (exhibits, witness lists, case organization).
May attend trials to assist attorney.
Electronically file documents via Florida e-Filing Portal.
Maintain organized client files and billing entries in MyCase.
Track and record time daily to meet firm’s billable requirement (1,400-1,600 hours based on compensation and experience).
Professional communication with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel.
Serve as courteous and empathetic client contact.
Required Qualifications
4-5+ years experience as Florida Family Law Paralegal.
1-2 years experience as Florida Estate Planning Paralegal.
Knowledge of Florida Family Law Rules of Procedure, discovery processes, mandatory disclosure.
Experience managing financial documentation and affidavits.
Proficient with Mac computers; comfortable in paperless environments.
Experience with MyCase or similar legal case management and billing software.
Excellent organizational, time management, communication skills.
Paralegal certification or equivalent hands‑on legal experience.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Experience assisting with mediations, depositions, trial preparation.
Strong client service skills; calm and professional demeanor.
Critical and independent thinking.
High emotional intelligence and professionalism when handling sensitive matters.
Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Pro, DocuSign, Dropbox, LexisNexis Research.
