
Sample Control Technician I (Tu-Sa, 9:30am - 6pm) Eurofins Environment Testing,

Job Summary
Eurofins Environment Testing is seeking a Sample Control Technician I to join our team. The Technician logs and tracks the receipt and shipment of all samples, maintains timely documentation, and supports the entire sample handling workflow.
Responsibilities
Receive and unload incoming samples in accordance with DOT regulations.
Verify receipts against Chain of Custody (COC) and note any discrepancies.
Maintain timely communication and response to PM inquiries.
Log samples into the LIMS, assign job/sample numbers for tracking.
Distribute paperwork to Project Managers.
Label samples with job/sample numbers for identification.
Deliver samples to the appropriate analysis lab or walk‑in.
Forward ICO samples to other laboratories as required, following DOT regulations.
Prepare bottle kits for shipping to clients for sample collection and return in accordance with EPA and DOT requirements.
Dispose of spent samples, waste, and other potentially hazardous materials per established procedures.
Monitor freezers and cooler temperatures daily to confirm readings are within SOP guidelines.
Clean and organize work area daily.
Stock inventory daily and assist with inventory of supplies.
Perform splits and composites as required.
Perform courier duties as required, maintaining certification and compliance with company driver policies.
Maintain safety and operate in an environmentally compliant manner.
Act as a backup for Supervisor.
Assist in maintenance of walk‑in coolers and freezers.
Maintain company vehicles as needed for sample pick‑up and delivery.
Ship back empty coolers to clients and other network labs as required.
Other duties as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Laboratory experience helpful.
Previous production‑oriented work helpful.
Department of Transportation (DOT) certificate may be required within 90 days of hire.
Valid state‑issued driver’s license to operate company vehicles.
Successfully pass a motor vehicle background check, as required for company driver certification.
Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) may be required within 90 days of hire.
TSA clearance may be required within 90 days of hire.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
General computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets.
Knowledge of lab practices, math and English.
Team‑working ability.
Good time management and organization.
Ability to drive for long periods, up to 8 hours per day.
Additional Information
Position is full‑time, non‑exempt from overtime pay with flexibility for overtime and weekend coverage as needed. Working days: Tuesday – Saturday, 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM.
Compensation: $19.00 – $21.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
