Overview
Saiia Construction Company LLC, a MasTec company, is currently hiring experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to join our team near Carrollton, KY.

The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment including excavator, dozers, graders, dump trucks, front‑end loaders, compactors, scrapers, and water trucks to move material to and from designated areas, participate in required training and ensure all established safety rules, procedures, policies, OSHA and MSHA regulations are followed.

Responsibilities

Excavator Operation – Operates excavator to dig holes and trenches, removes and transports earth, gravel, and other materials in stockpiles or transport trucks. May need to understand and utilize GPS grade technology.

Bulldozer/Grader Operation – Operates bulldozer or grader to level and distribute soil and other materials, adjust blade and attachments, and utilize GPS grade technology when needed.

Rock/Articulated/Dump/Roll Off Truck Driving – Operates truck equipped with dump body to transport and dump loose materials, manages levers and controls, and adheres to material handling practices.

Scraper/Tractor Operation – Operates tractor‑drawn or self‑propelled scraper to haul and grade earth, control loading gate, and adjust depth of cut.

Water Truck Driving – Operates water truck to transport water for construction projects, including filling potable water to crews and using sprinkling attachment to control dust. Performs inspections, maintenance, and adjustments.

Qualifications

Knowledge of EPA, OSHA, MSHA and other related state and federal regulations.

Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.

Proficiency in email, smartphone, tablet, or computer to manage company information and documents.

Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence.

Must maintain acceptable attendance standards per employee handbook.

Approach and complete work in a meticulous, thorough, and timely manner.
