Saiia Construction Company LLC, a MasTec company, is hiring experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to join our team.

Responsibilities
Excavator Operation

Operates excavator that digs holes and trenches, removes and transports earth, gravel, and various materials.

Starts engine, controls hydraulic shovel and attachments, uses bucket to dig specified trenches and holes.

May need to utilize GPS grade technology.

Bulldozer - Grader Operator

Operates bulldozer or grader to level and distribute soil, sand, ore, rock, gravel, and other materials.

Puts attachments into place as needed, maneuvers vehicle and blade, and clears trees and rocks.

Operates machine in successive passes to achieve specified grade.

May need to utilize GPS grade technology.

Rock / Articulated / Dump / Roll Off Truck Driver

Operates truck equipped with dump body to transport and dump loose materials such as sand, soil, rock, gravel, and coal.

Tilts body and dumps contents, controls forward and backward movement, and adheres to dump bed body.

Designation may vary by material hauled, truck type, and work location.

Scraper / Tractor Operator

Operates tractor‑drawn or self‑propelled scraper to move, haul, and grade earth on construction sites.

Controls loading gate, adjusts depth of cut, raises and closes pan or bowl, and spreads or dumps earth.

Connects hydraulic hoses, belts, or mechanical linkages to tractor to power attachments.

Water Truck Driver

Operates truck to transport water for construction projects, fill potable water for crews, and spray water on roadways to control dust.

Performs inspections, oiling, greasing, and general maintenance of the water truck and auxiliary equipment.

Qualifications

Knowledge of EPA, OSHA, MSHA, and other related state and federal regulations.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Proficiency with email, smart phone, tablet, or computer for managing company information and documents.

Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence.

Must maintain acceptable attendance standards per employee handbook.

Approaches and completes work in a meticulous, thorough, and timely manner.

Physical Requirements

Lift/Carry 0–10 lbs.: Occasionally

Lift/Carry 10–50 lbs.: Occasionally

Reach Above: Occasionally

Bend/Stoop: Occasionally

Use Hands for Manipulations: Continuously

Vision Abilities: Close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Hearing Abilities: Must be able to hear equipment and facility signals, horns and alarms; radio and phone communications.
