Mechanical Engineer
Renewyx, Kansas City, MO, United States
Renewyx is partnering exclusively with a leading design build specialist firm to recruit a Mechanical Engineer into their growing engineering team. Our client operates across major university, government, manufacturing, and school district accounts — designing and constructing the systems that make buildings healthier, safer, and more energy efficient.
This is an unusual opportunity in the MEP space. Because engineering and construction sit under one roof, you're not billing hours or handing off designs to someone else to build — you see your work through from concept to commissioning, with full control over quality at every stage.
The Role
You'll lead HVAC and MEP system design across ground-up and retrofit projects, supporting decarbonization planning and facility improvement programmes. Day-to-day you'll be working in Revit and AutoCAD, running load calculations and energy simulations, coordinating with in-house construction and estimating teams, and supporting site assessments to identify energy conservation opportunities.
What They're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Licensed PE (or actively pursuing licensure across multiple states)
7+ years of experience in building systems mechanical engineering
Strong HVAC principles and working knowledge of building codes and controls
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and load calculation software
CO and/or WA licensure is a plus, as is familiarity with electrical and plumbing systems
What's On Offer
12 paid company holidays + unlimited PTO (with mandatory minimum)
Up to 14 weeks paid parental leave
Generous 401k match vesting from day one
Professional development budget, relocation support, and cell phone reimbursement
