As an accountant II supporting the Controllership accounting function, you will have the opportunity to be part of an incredible team that supports our growing and complex global business. You will support accounting close and financial reporting activities, develop reporting and analyses to maintain accuracy of the financial statements, support business partners, implement and document new and current accounting processes, and prepare deliverables to support SEC filings. You will collaborate with teams across Starbucks to help grow our existing business and support new initiatives and prepare quarterly financial reporting deliverables for respective areas.
Responsibilities
Prepare journal entries and/or financial statement disclosures for accuracy and compliance with company policies and applicable accounting principles; prepare account reconciliations.
Maintain and develop various accounting systems and processes; recommend and implement improvements.
Support month and quarter end close; perform trend and variance analysis as part of close; support quarterly earnings reporting, ongoing budget and forecasting processes and produce ad-hoc reporting and analysis to support business operational, financial and strategic decisions.
Work on an energetic, fun team, and drive the business forward as part of a highly collaborative team, while acting in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.
Qualifications
Experience in accounting at a professional level, including journal entries, account reconciliation, reporting and analysis or equivalent experience. (2+ years)
Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred.
Experience using an ERP system and business intelligence and reporting tools (such as Hyperion, Anaplan, and Oracle) preferred.
