Maintenance Technician

OVERVIEW
The primary purpose of the maintenance technician is to perform a variety of duties including the installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of production and facility equipment to support a lean and efficient manufacturing operation.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES
Conduct preventative maintenance on plant production equipment and support systems and respond to emergency repairs as needed.
Operate shop equipment including hand/power tools, measuring devices and material handling equipment as needed.
Perform a variety of plumbing, electrical and carpentry installation and repairs.
Fabrication of equipment to improve its overall safety for users.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Profound knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical equipment
Preventative Maintenance, follow planned maintenance schedule to keep equipment in optimal working order.
Troubleshooting: use skill to identify and solve complex problems, often involving electrical and mechanical issues.
Ability to read and understand technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
Competence with a wide range of tools, from hand and power tools to precision measuring instruments and electronic testing devices.
3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills including public speaking.
Organizational skills and ability to prioritize work. Able to follow and give directions as required.
Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic air systems
Experience with industrial electrical and electronic repairs
Understanding of plant production equipment and building support systems.
Prior maintenance of lathes, surface grinders, drill presses, milling machines, power and manual hand tools
EDUCATION
High school diploma required.
Associate's degree or higher preferred.
MS Office software.
